Lost Fenrir when upgrade it

So at about 3:20 pm (gmt-6) i went to chaos goblin to upgrade my red fenrir to a black one...with 1chaos 5jwl of life weapon+6+4 exc and the fenrir...

according to this guide..http://diablo-network.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2141...it doesn't say that you can fail and when i was talking with JimmyCool and CyPher on TeamSpeak they said it was in the guide that it said it could fail when upgrading to black/blue...i also went searching on the web and found nothing that says it can fail when upgrading from red to black/blue

i've also been searching for a upgrade that was made to server that would state that you can lose them now...because last season i and a few others from my ally tried to upgrade and when it failed only the jwls disappeared...so why is it now that it disappears without an explanation? and as cypher pointed out the

* The rates may not be correct since server settings can be modified. * so is there anyway you can show me that it is like him and Jimmy were saying...that it can disappear when tried to upgrade...

well to my knowing, i hunted for parts to make a fenrir in DiabloMU season2, in crywolf, i got all the parts and i made a red fenrir, and some weeks later i tried to upgrade it to a fenrir+destroy (black fenrir), and it failed, and then i lost my fenrir aswell in the process.

the years passed and i talked with many people about fenrirs, they all knew that there is a possibility that the fenrir may be destroyed if you try to upgrade it, and manny lost theirs.

if u say you tryed to upgrade, failed, and still had the fenrir, then i think that could of been a bug, to my knowledge you should of lost it then aswell.

PS: i added a note to the guide,....last red line

there are 3 steps in making a fenrir, in each step of the creation it can fail, from the second step (broken horn) to the fenrir, if the combination fails, you then lose the horn if a fenrir dosnt come out,.....that is not specified in the guide but everyone else knew that except you.

there is a rate % in creating and upgrading a fenrir or any item at the Chaos Machine, each time something fails the item dissapears, why do you think the fenrir will not dissapear? how come you are the only one that did not understand that?

you mentioned GMO on teamspeak, each server is different in tens if not hundreds of ways, i doubt even there the fenrir dos not dissapear if an upgrade fails, if you see wings lvl3 in GMO Lorencia Bar, that dost not mean that you will see the same thing here

your fault here is that you were missinformed and you did not get more information on the matter before proceeding

 

yeah i know that each server is unique and such but i am 100% sure that last season we only lost the jewels used to make the upgrade and now all of a sudden without notice in the logs...you lose the fenrir too...

as to the servers not having a fenrir disappear, i went and tried making on a server that is very to easy to get the items and kept going until i failed...but only the jewels disappeared...

existenz i am not the only one who didn't "know" that i talked with several people in my guild on sm and ally for my mg asking them about this and they thought it was the way i was talking about because that is all they experienced...and one of them had the same thing happen in s3...

so hopefully sephi can prove one of us right with the log stating what happens if it fails...and when it was changed...

 

there is one thing you didn't address...last season me along with a couple others had fenrirs from GR and we tried upgrading and we failed it a couple times and nothing happened to fenrir...

If I reckon the maximum succes rate for the upgrade is 79%

 

ok it was a bug...but how was i suppose to know that when it never happened before to me that i lost it...yeah 79% is max which is what i had...

@cypher...you were saying something similar i just wanted actual response from sephi to know what accounted for the problem

there was no problem, you had a 21% chance of the upgrade failing, and it did fail, and you lost your fenrir.

why it didnt happen to you before in season3 is unknown, the settings were the same.

how were you suppose to know? by asking GMs, ingame or off, other players etc.... all you had to do is get informed and you didnt.

now you know...
